High Level Design (HLD)
High Level Design (HLD) High level design High level design (HLD) gives the complete system design of functional architecture and database design. For the developers it is very much important to understand how the flow of the system is. In this phase the system design team testers team and the customers plays an important role. For this entry criteria are required the document that is SRS and the then exit criteria will be high level design, projects standards, functional design documents, and the database design documents. Problem specification Data has to be processed in a effective and efficient way. Time consumption should be less. Easy to implement. Data Definition/ Dictionary Data dictionary is a repository that contains all the description of all data produced by the application. It is an organization listing of all data elements that are pertinent to the system. The user must be aware of the government rules and regulations that are to be implemented on the terms. The user must be aware of the flow at which the process of system takes place. Low level design Low level design (LLD) is like detailing the High level design. It defines the real logic for each and the each every component of the system. Class diagrams with the methods and relation between the classes comes under the low level design. The main phase of the object oriented approach is as follows:- Object modeling Dynamic modeling Object modeling Object modeling technique describes a method for the analysis, design, and implementation of a system using an object-oriented technique. Object modeling technique consists of four phases, which can be performed iteratively are Analysis, system design, object design, implementation Dynamic modeling The dynamic model describes the functionalities involved in the project and the person performing those functionalities. Following are the different kind of dynamic diagrams namely; Use case, Sequence, Activity diagrams. Use case diagram Ause case diagramis the simple and it is a represented as the userââ¬â¢s interaction with the system and describes the specifications of ause case. A use case diagram can represent the different kinds of users of a system and the different ways that they will interact with the system. Such diagrams is typically used in conjunction with the textualuse caseas well as it will often be accompanied by other kinds of diagrams. It is the high level piece of functionality that the system provides. An actor is one who interacts with the system. This Use Case diagrams are included into two modeling languages defined by the Object Management Group (OMG). Both the UML and SysML standards define a graphical notation for modeling use cases with diagrams. One complain is that they will not define the format for depicting these use cases. Generally both the graphical notation and the descriptions are very important as they document the use case and it is showing the reason for which an actor uses a system. The use case diagram shows the place of use case with the other use cases. As organizing the mechanism a set of consistent and coherent use cases promotes important figure of system behavior and have a common understanding between the customer or owner or user and the development team. Sequence diagrams Asequence diagramis a kind ofinteraction diagramthat shows how processes is operated with one another and in what order the processes is operated. It is the construction of aMessage Sequence Chart. A sequence diagram shows how the object interaction is arranged in time sequence. It describes the objects and classes which is involved in the scenario as well as in the sequence of messages that has been exchanged between the objects and it is needed to carry out the functions of the scenario. Sequence diagrams are typically mixed with use case in the Logical View of the system in the development. Sequence diagrams are calledevent diagrams orevent scenarios andtiming diagrams. A sequence diagram shows the parallel vertical lines (lifelines), the different processes or objects that live parallel and the horizontal arrow. The messages exchanged between them in an order in which they have occurred. This allows the specification of simple runtime in a graphical manner. Sequence diagrams Create the account Account Acceptance res Upload the file File received confirmation Create the End User account Account confirmation Request the file File request confirmation File sending response VMââ¬â¢s details Threshold Details Account details Figure 5.2 : Sequence diagrams Activity diagram Activity diagrams is a graphical representations of flow of work of steps that have taken in the activities and actions with support for choice and interact and concurrency. In the UML activity diagrams are intends to for both the computational and also for the organizational processes (i.e. workflows).. Activity diagrams 1 Figure 5.3 : Activity diagrams 1 Activity diagrams 2 Figure 5.4 : Activity diagrams 2 Functional modeling Afunction modelorfunctional modelinsystems engineeringandsoftware engineering is a structured representation of thefunctions(activities, actions, processes, operations) within the modeledsystemor subject area. A function model, similar with theactivity modelorprocess model, is a graphical representation of anenterprises function within a defined scope. The main purposes of the function model is to describe the functions and processes, and help with discovery of information needs and also help to identify opportunities, and establish a basis for determine the product and the actual service costs. Data flow diagram Adata flow diagram(DFD) is a graphical representation of the flow of data through aninformation system modeling its process. The step is used to create an overall view of the system which can be elaborated later. DFDs are also used for visualizationofdata processing(structured design). A DFD shows what type of information will be input to and what type of information will the output from the system, and from where the comes and from where it goes to, and where the data will be exactly stored in the system. It does not show information about the time of processes or gives the information about the processes will operate in parallel way or in a sequence way (which is shown on aflowchart). DFDs are the model of the proposed system. They should clearly show the requirements on which the new system should be built. Later during the design activity is taken as the basis for drawing the systemââ¬â¢s structure charts. The Basic Notation used to create a DFDââ¬â¢s are as follows: 1. Dataflow: Data move in a specific direction from an origin to a destination. 2. Process: People, procedures, or devices that use or produce (Transform) Data. The physical component is not identified. 3. Source: External sources or destination of data, which may be People, programs, organizations or other entities 4. Data Store: Here data are stored or referenced by a process in the System. ER Diagram An ER model is an abstract way of describing adatabase. In the case of arelational database, which stores data in tables, some of the data in these tables point to data in other tables. It is essential to have one of these if you want to create a good database design. The patterns help focus on how the database actual works with all of the interactions and data flows. Building Blocks of Entity Diagram are: Entities: An entity is a ââ¬Ëââ¬â¢thingâ⬠that exists and can be uniquely identià ¯Ã ¬Ã ed. Relations: A (binary) relationship type is an association between two entity types. Attributes: Attribute names (or simply attributes) are properties of entity types. The Main Advantages of Entity relation diagrams are: They are relatively simple They are user friendly They can provide a unique view of data, which is independent of any data models Module Description NICE Systems consists of following sub modules such as: Data Owner Cloud Service Provider (CSP) Virtual Machine for Cloud data storage Attack Analyzer Remote User Data Owner: Users who have the data and that have to be stored in the cloud and rely on the cloud for data computation, it consist of both the individual consumers and the organizations. Cloud Service Provider (CSP): A Cloud Service Provider (CSP) who has significant resources and who are expert in building and managing distributed cloud storage servers on different virtual machines, owns and operates live Cloud Computing systems. Virtual Machine for Cloud data storage Cloud data storage, a user will stores his data through a Cloud Service Provider (CSP) into a group of cloud servers, which are running in a simultaneous, the user interacts with the cloud servers via CSP to access or retrieve his data. In some cases, the user may need to perform block level operations on his data. Users should be equipped with security means so that they can make continuous correctness assurance of their stored data even without the existence of local copies. The cloud consists of different Virtual machines on which the owner data will be allocated and shared and the cloud will listen the different types of attackers called Stable. There does not exist any known vulnerability on the VM. Vulnerable. Presence of one or more vulnerabilities on a VM, which remains unexploited.

Stone Boy Essay -- essays research papers
Creative Task: The Stone Boy Six years ago, Arnold Curwing accidentally shot his brother with a .22 caliber rifle. He was nine years old at the time. Surrounding this incident, as you would expect, he was under fire by his neighbors and peers from thereon, even though it was an accident. Generally, they all blamed him. Some detested him for not getting in trouble. Some might debate that he got not enough punishment. Others might conclude that the knowledge of living the rest of his life knowing that he killed his brother would be punishment enough. The people that he loved, the people he was closest to blamed him, including his mother and sister blamed him. This is the kind of thing that a person nine years of age does not forget. For this reason I make the following analysis. When he was young, Arnold seemed like a child with no education, except for the knowledge that had been passed down the family –like the need to pick peas before the sun comes up, while they are still cool – pieces of information like this would be all that he needs to get by when (we assume) he inherits the farm from his father. So he would not be very bright by today's standards. Naivety would be a characteristic you would expect from him as well – it seems that in his community, mostly everybody would accept what is given to them and not question it. Uncle Andy for instance immediately believed the sheriffs verdict, be it correct or not, and is later quoted to have s...

Socrates – Wisest Man
ââ¬Å"Wisest is he who knows that he does not Know. â⬠This was one of the statements attributed to Socrates who is regarded as one of mankindââ¬â¢s greatest teachers and the wisest man who ever lived. He was also considered as one of the most enigmatic figures in the history of philosophy. Socrates was a very ugly individual. He was potbellied, had a bulging eyes and a snub nose. He did not write anything down. Everything that we know about him was because of Plato and other philosophers like Xenophon who discussed Socrates in their dialogues. What is surprising is that he acquired the stature of being one of the most influential person in the history of philosophy without writing a single philosophical article. (The Blufferââ¬â¢s Guide to Philosophy, p 10) This essay aims to prove that Socrates was indeed the wisest man who has ever lived in this world. In the third subsection, I aim to present my arguments and reasons why I think Socrates is the wisest man who has ever lived. In the fourth subsection, I aim to present the antithesis to my arguments. In the concluding part, I aim to synthesize all the arguments taking into consideration the antithesis. II. Sophists To understand Socrates however, it is important that a discussion be devoted to the so-called Philosophers during his time. They were known as the Sophists. The Sophists were famous during his time. They were not Athenian citizens but they wandered from city to city to deliver their lectures on philosophy for a fee. Philosophers like Socrates, Plato and Aristotle criticized the Sophists for professionalizing the commercializing education. Sophists: The Origin of Western Philosophical Ethics) Socrates was very critical against the Sophists. It is said that Socrates defended philosophy and the society against the Sophists. Michael Curtis, in the Great Political Thinkers: Volume 1, asserted that : ââ¬Å"Socrates criticized the Sophists as a group for professing false knowledge, not in the sense of misleading or incorrect information, but in not penetrating sufficiently t he significance of the subject they were treating. â⬠(Curtis 26) One of the leading Sophists was Protagoras. They theorized that universal principles do not exist and if ever they existed man is not capable of knowing them. The Sophists therefore advocated a philosophy of relativism. Jostein Gaarder in ââ¬ËSophies Worldââ¬â¢ attributed the statement ââ¬Å"Man is the Measure of all thingsâ⬠(Gaarder 49) to Protagoras. He meant that man has no capability of knowing what is good or bad which is universally valid for anyone regardless of place and time. To know whether an act is good or bad will entirely depend on that particular individual. If an act is good for him, then it is considered good. Thus whether an act is good or bad will have to be considered in relation to manââ¬â¢s needs. (Gaarder 50) III. Socrates as the Wisest Man Socrates should be considered the wisest man because he changed the method of education. Emphasizing the value of education he discussed with his students for free. He did not charge a large sum of money to his students unlike the Sophists who commercialized the education of the youth in Athens by exacting from them fees in exchange for conducting lectures. He should be regarded as the wisest man in the world because of his method of teaching which is called the Socratic Method. Socrates compared his method to a midwife. Midwifery is defined as the art & practice of attending upon women in childbirth (Midwifery). A midwife does not herself give birth to the child but she merely helps in the childââ¬â¢s delivery. Socrates used the same method. He did not teach students by giving lectures because for him knowledge must come from within. True knowledge according to Socrates is a two-way process. It cannot come from the teacher alone. Plato in his work Theaetetus discussed the similarity of Socratic method with the art of midwifery, to wit: ââ¬Å"Well, my art of midwifery is in most respects like theirs; but differs in that I attend men and not women, and I look after their souls when they are in labor, and not after their bodies, and the triumph of my art is in thoroughly examining whether the thought which the mind of the young man brings forth is a false idol or a noble and true birth. â⬠(Theaetetus) The Socratic Method consists of two processes. Socrates argued that the first step to acquiring knowledge is to clear the mind of all the biases and prejudices. There must be a humble acceptance and confession of ignorance. Socrates once said that there is only one thing that I know and that is that I know nothingââ¬â¢ (Gaarder 53). True knowledge will only be acquired after one has accepted his ignorance. The second step will be the maeiutic process. The term came from the Greek word ââ¬Å"maieutikosââ¬â¢ wherein Socrates attempted to draw out of the studentsââ¬â¢ mind the knowledge. Socrates then engaged his students in a debate. Socrates questioned his students the purpose is to get the foundations of the views and opinions of his students until a contradiction in their views is discovered. Thus, in this process Socrates hoped to destroy the incorrect propositions and assumptions and develop and improve the correct propositions. Socrates should be considered the wisest man who ever lived because he stressed the dangers of ignorance. According to Socrates, ignorance consisted in not knowing that there exists universal principles and that man is capable of knowing them. True knowledge consisted in knowing that universal principles exist. Socrates thus sought to liberate the people from the relativist philosophy of the Sophists. For Socrates, to uphold the Sophists view society will be in chaos. For who will now determine which act is good or bad for the society. A person can therefore perform any act which he deems right for himself regardless of its effect on other people. In contrast, Socrates argued that there exist universal norms and principles which are valid regardless of place and time. Socrates argued that ââ¬Å"Knowledge is Virtueâ⬠. He argued that man is inherently good. He will not purposely do evil. If one knows what is good then man will do good. If ever man does evil it is because he does not know any better or because his knowledge is imperfect or inadequate. Thus, Socrates explains the great problem of evil: evil which is mostly moral evil is due to ignorance or the limitation and imperfection of manââ¬â¢s perfect knowledge. This is affirmed by Garth Kemerling in his essay ââ¬Å"Socratesâ⬠ââ¬Å"Socrates argues here that knowledge and virtue are so closely related that no human agent ever knowingly does will : we all invariably do what we believe to be best. Improper conduct, then, can only be a product of our ignorance rather than a symptom of weakness of the will. (Kemerling) IV. Socrates is not the Wisest Man If there are people who believe that Socrates was the wisest man some people believe that he is not the wisest man because of his erroneous assumption that knowledge will rid the world of evil. Lack of knowledge is not the only propeller that drives man to do evil. I think Socrates may have failed to consider the power of instinct and passions that are capable of making man commit evil. It cannot be denied that against all wisdom and common sense man still is forced to commit evil. Some people have been gifted with the greatest minds in the world but they still commit crimes and lead immoral lives. Consider the terrorist attacks our countries have experienced. The attackers instead of using their intelligence to avoid violence are spearheading the attacks against our country. V. Conclusion The philosophy of Socrates was unique for his time. He went against the prevailing tide and told the Athenian people that if they continue to believe the Sophists, Athens was headed for destruction. The objection that man despite its knowledge continuously commits evil is precisely because of the limitation and imperfection of his knowledge. The terrorists thinking that they have noble cause commit these atrocious acts not knowing that they are committing a grave and serious evil. Socrates taught us all to reexamine ourselves and our deeply cherished belief. He invited us to question every belief, opinion and subject them to scrutiny. Most of the time we get too involved with what we thought we knew where in fact we know nothing about it. It is time for us to free ourselves from our biases and prejudices. Biases and prejudices if left unexamined could shape our lives without us knowing it. They affect how we see the world and how we respond to it. Liberating ourselves from our own biases and prejudices will help us better understand our lives and our place in this world. Socratic philosophy is in reality an invitation for us to ââ¬Å"know ourselvesâ⬠. It is because of this reason that I think Socrates is the wisest person Socrates inspires us to once more see the world from the eyes of the child. Most of the time we are so used to the world that we begin to accept things as they are. What could be worse than a man lives his life full of biases and prejudices. ââ¬ËAn unexamined life is not worth living. ââ¬â¢

Declaration Of Independance Analysis.
Declaration Of Independance Analysis. At the beginning of the Civil War president Abraham Lincoln was primarily concerned with preserving the Union and reuniting the United States. However, after his reading of the Gettysburg address the more prominent concern came to be the freeing of slaves from the South. His Gettysburg address speech was only about three minutes long it was more affective and more undying than the speech made by Everett's long-forgotten two-hour oration.Lincoln's speech is very chronological, he begins with stating that 87 years ago our forefathers were concerned with preserving our nation. Not to mention reinforcing the idea that all men are created equal.Next he talks about the present Civil War going on in our "United" States. He begins with saying that it is our duty to dedicate ourselves to the unfinished work of preserving our nation. Then saying they have all gathered here (Gettysburg) to honor our loved ones and heroes for dying so that our nation can live on.Lithograph of the Assassination o f Abraham Lincoln...It is only the right thing to do to be here. The last major point he makes is what we should hope to accomplish from this war. Lincoln makes it very clear that we should honor the dead, preserve the nation. So that our whole country knows that none of these soldiers died in vain. He then goes on to say how people will quickly forget his speech, but he will never forget the men who died saving our country. He says there is still a great task of reuniting to go through and the whole country needs to come together to make that happen, and make sure that their efforts do not go unnoticed. The nation is dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal and is a government of, by, and for the people, to...

Sister Carrie Analysis essays
Sister Carrie Analysis essays In the novel Sister Carrie, by Theodore Dreiser, Carrie Meeber advances in social standing by using sex as a form of capital, while George Hurstwood falls from upper class status. This plot, though acceptable in modern literature, was unheard of in the early 20th century and despised by critics of the period. Dreisers work has been increasingly important since his death(Poupard, 50). The plot of Sister Carrie is exemplary in it's representation of 20th century naturalism and marks the change from conventional to unorthodox literature. Sister Carrie has become more important over time and is one of the most important American novels written in the 20th century(Stanley, 214). Sinclair Lewis stated that Sister Carrie is "widely hailed as the largest fruit of American realism"(Poupard, 164). Dresier used determinism and sentimentalism to describe how ones destiny is shaped(Poupard, 49). The inability to shape ones destiny and portayal of ill situations being inevitable was Karl F. Zender argues that Sister Carrie's emphasis on circumstance de-emphasis on character takes away from the novel. Through Dreiser's realism however the immodest nature of the novel is felt. Edgar Lee Masters exclaims that Dreiser's "clear eye and accurate hand" are exemplary in Sister Carrie and presented a reality relatable to the reader(Poupard, 165). Dianne Henningfield recognizes that it is possible to focus on Carrie's capitalism, exchanging services for goods, seeing that Carrie is pushed to her decisions for economic needs(Stanley, 215). This sort of literature was not common in the early 20th century and was not accepted by most critics of the period . Many early critics focused on the fact that Carrie was not reprimanded at any point in the novel for her exchange of sex for goods(Poupard, 49). From Carries situations the book can be read as a tragedy of putting that much importance and value to sex, however to advan ...

Master Degree Proposal Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Master Degree Proposal - Essay Example All tourists visiting Egypt require passports and visas, except for Middle East countries. Tourists from Africa need to test for cholera and yellow fever . In order to understand Egyptââ¬â¢s governmentââ¬â¢s role in tourism, it is important to look at the political system, the visa requirement, and the restriction on area tourist can visit. The principles of constitutionalism which is popular sovereignty, limited government, separation of powers, checks and balances, fundamental rights has not been strictly followed in case of Egypt. The rule in Egypt has not been ââ¬Å"popularâ⬠sovereignty rule. The president was not elected democratically. Since the government was not socially elected therefore ââ¬Å"limitedâ⬠government does no have any meaning. The separation of powers was selectively done. As far as fundamental rights are concerned it was seldom followed. The Great Pyramid of Giza, build 4000 years ago, Great Sphinx, the largest statue of couchant sphinx are the main attractions for tourists in Giza. Mount Sinai in Sinai Peninsula attracts tourists for its coral reefs and biblical history. Luxor, city of ancient site of Thebes houses the worldââ¬â¢s greatest open air museum. Saqqara complex, an ancient burial ground has numerous pyramids and mastabas. Egypt is considered an unsafe country due to various wars in the area. Thus the Government is playing an active role to bring back the positive perceptions about the country. Tourism sector of Egypt has always been a stronghold of the Government with involvement of the private sector. After the revolution in 1952 the Egyptian tourism industry was nationalized and the largest private hotels were expropriated (Richter & Steiner 2007). Small sectors were in the hands of the private sector. The largest hotels existing then were handed over to international hotel chains like Hilton and Shearaton. During 1967 the Ministry of Tourism was established to administer the tourism sector of the eco nomy. In 1971, there was introduction of free zones, giving public ventures to collaborate with the foreign investors (Ibrahim 2009). President Anwar Sadatââ¬â¢s Open Door Policy thereafter led the Government to feel that tourism could lead to economic prosperity of the nation. The structural change in the tourism sector can be attributed to the pro liberalization Minister of Tourism of 1980, Faud Sultan. He opened up the tourism sector to foreign funds, which infused fresh blood to the poorly performing hotels. The first wave did not create much impact; however a second wave of liberalization happened in the late 1980ââ¬â¢s. New airline rules allowed charter flights to land directly in tourist areas. This led to a surge in demand from earlier times. During 1985 the Egyptian Government faced balance of payments crisis. To improve the economyââ¬â¢s position the Government received exclusive planning responsibility for tourism development and was granted the power to coordina te the provision of infrastructure in all areas designated for tourism development by the Prime Ministerial decree No. 993 of 1988 (Richter & Steiner, 2007). The liberalization led to lot of investment by the private sector on tourism and by 1993, major proportion of investment was from the private sector (Gray 1998). Law No. 230 of 1989, reshaped the legal and institutional environment for the tourism sector. This law guarantees that private companies can secure operating licenses. Capital investment in desert areas was given tax exemption for a

Business sustainability - Essay Example If we observe closely, it can be seen that corporate partners of CDP are the companies who actually have the objective of carrying out their operations while having minimum effect on the environment. Companies like Nestle and Dell have always preached about sustainable development and recycling. They even use the eco-friendly material for the manufacturing of their products. This is the main reason why these and other companies voluntarily disclose their carbon emission rate, as their policies include the protection of environment. The CDP operates worldwide in most major economies channeling information and progressing through five different programs. These five programs include CDP public procurement, investor CDP, CDP cities, CDP water disclosure and CDP supply chains all of which allow the access towards and demonstrate the theories of environmental governance. CDPââ¬â¢s public procurement programs has been designed for enabling the national as well as the local government to determine the impact of climate change on their supply chain. Governments spend almost trillions of dollars annually which possesses the potential of imposing a great impact on the markets. This program provides a way to the government for asking their suppliers about the succeeding global warming implications, energy use and the greenhouse gas emission, allowing them to better understand the risk associated with the climate change which helps in the creation of supply chain with low carbon (Anon., 2013). The investor CDP program is based on the largest collaboration of the investors from all around the world and its purpose is to spread the relevant climate change information among its 551 institutional investors, so that these financial decision makers may turn towards low carbon economies. This program is considered to be an instrument for harnessing market forces that links the economic rationality with the environmental outcomes, making it a very effective and efficient way of
